2 JUNE – STEVE TROMANS - Ambient and Amazing Musics.
Steve Tromans has played with John Mayer's Indo-Jazz Fusions, and led many other acclaimed bands. Between 2004 and 2006 he toured his Birmingham Jazz commission, Howl - a musical setting of the poetry of Allen Ginsberg. In 2006 he was awarded Honorary Membership of Birmingham Conservatoire in acknowledgement of his achievements in the field of jazz and improvised music since his graduation in 1997. In May 2006 he moved to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where he set up Mongolia’s first jazz Academy.

This remarkable cave system is remarkably engraved with religious figures, pagan and Masonic symbols. How much did the Knights Templar have to do with it? Is it based on the Church of The Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem? Esoteric Medieval carving?
Sylvia P. Beamon, M.A. (Cantab) studied archaeology and anthropology, and is an expert in underground structures. Sylvia founded the national society Subterranean Britannica in 1974.
30 JUNE – KEVAN MANWARING – The Way of Awen: Journey of a Bard
Author of The Bardic Handbook Kevan Manwaring, Bard of Bath & professional storyteller, talks about The Way of Awen: journey of a bard - which explores the legend of Taliesin in depth as a template for bardic development. Way of Awen is about living creatively - something essential to us all. Using 20 years of his journals, Kevan shows how the awen can be applied to every situation in life. The Taliesin Soliloquies will demonstrate ancient wisdom through intense personal experience.
Kevan Manwaring has an MA in the Teaching and Practice in Creative Writing. He teaches creative writing for the OU and Skyros Writers Lab. He also runs courses in storytelling and various aspects of the writing process to a wide variety of students.
7 JULY - PAOLO CORTUCCI - Multidimensional Astrology
A lightweight look at astrology and some of its layers and levels through the charts of people (famous or otherwise) and events. The presentation will focus on the most intriguing and significant factors highlighted by these charts. We will also see how they can provide meaning and guidance. The charts will be used to expand participants’ knowledge of astrology.
Participants are welcome to provide their charts for discussion. A basic knowledge of astrology would be helpful.

David Parry has a degree in Religious Studies and continued his theological research at Heythrop College. He teaches literature and language and is a noted lecturer on Spiritualism and poet. David runs The Gruntlers, a new and highly acclaimed poetry and arts society. We are delighted to have him at The Moot again.
4 August – Siberian Shamanism
Shamanism is the foundation beliefs and practices of the contemporary religions. Siberian Shamanism is new to London and this evening should be most interesting. As well as the history of magic there will be practical demonstrations by Shamans.
